Few devices developed for use in the care of the orthopedic patient are developed by physicians; and many a times fully developed products are presented to physicians for testing and clinical trials. Innovations desired by physicians in this field sometimes do not make it to the market and are frequently left undeveloped.

Since its inception, product innovations focused on the need of the end-user – the patient, have been successfully introduced to the market. These innovations range from simple concepts to complex devices for use in the care of orthopedic injuries.

Boneguard was established in the 1990's by Olarewaju "Lare" Oladipo, MD, FRCS(Ed), FRCS(Glas), an orthopedist with a background in Orthopedic Engineering (MSc., University of Cardiff, Wales). This company was established as a result of his interest in product innovations, and a number of the products are based on inventions developed during his routine encounters with patients. Since its inception, Boneguard has become an established name in the orthopedic product marketplace.
